I'm glad...
Reita's eyes opened wide. He knew that for the most part that Ruki was attracted to other men, but it hadn't really occurred to him that the other man might actually like the fact that he l-hey wait....
Giving a slightly dejected sigh as he was running gambits in his own thoughts again he nodded, putting on his own cigarette, his hands still shaking and feeling a little bit off.
"Hey, Ru...I'm sorry for being such a dick earlier...so, you're right. Let's go inside and eat..."
And we can forget this whole thing ever happened, right? For some reason though, Reita didn't want to forget, wanted to tell Ruki later everything that he felt. But, it was so scary.
They walked back into the restaurant and sat down in their places. The waitress brought Reita his wallet back and their food was brought out to them. Along with Ruki's coke and Reita's barley tea. And they ate most of their meal in all out silence.

Ruki himself didn't know what to feel about this whole thing. Part of him was filled with relief. His best friend didn't hate him, that all was good and well between them. Loosing Reita as a friend was just something he never wanted to go through. In fact loosing any of the Gazette was something he didn't want to go through.
Another part of him, one he didn't want to think about as he took his seat back inside the ramen shop, was over joyed at the knowledge that Reita liked him and found him attractive and only him. It was as much as an ego boost as it was....something else.
It was that something else he didn't want to think about at the moment. Thinking about that was for when he was in his dorm, venting to his note book and canvas, not in a raman shop across from the very man that brought this something else up in him.
"There's no need to be sorry," he finally spoke, breaking the uncomfortable silence between them. "You were just being you."
While Reita was gruff with people when something was bothering him, Ruki tended to hid away, loosing himself in his art and lyrics until it all became clear in the words elegantly scrawled across lined paper and the pictures etched in graphite which, he knew he would be doing once he was back in his dorm.

After finishing up his ramen Reita sat picking at his black fingernail polish, thinking about how Ruki said not to say sorry. But, really it was very difficult. He didn’t know how to feel about the whole thing and it made him incredibly nervous. Obviously, since he’d thought he was straight up until only a couple of hours ago it came as a shock to him that he just admitted to his best friend that he was physically attracted to him.
But, it was more than just that wasn’t it? It was so much more than just physical attraction, he...Reita stopped his considerations right there. Because, he knew that if he went any further he was very likely to get hurt. Maybe that would come later, but for now he was openly waiting for Ruki’s rejection.
“Is yours good,” he reached for the can of coke, taking a sip of it and then replacing it back in front of the other man.
Then his eyes fell back to this idle observation of Ruki’s body, even being so bold as to take a curious look under the table. Then a blush came across his face again and he tried to tear his eyes away, looking up at the menu with a look of contemplation.

"Very good~" He answered, not at all minding that Reita drank some of his soda. They were always doing something like that it seemed. A stolen cigarette here, a stolen drink there. The only thing they didn't give and take from each other were kisses...
That wasn't a line of thought Ruki wanted to be on. Thinking of that now, when Reita was so close was bad. See, he acted on a whim most of the time when it came to his emotions and acting on his emotions right now would be bad.
Finishing off his meal, he took a sip of his soda, leaning back and allowing his mind to wonder. It wonder to places far safe then his emotions and the situation he found himself in with Reita. It wonder to places of music notes and guitar chords, of bass lines and drums beats, of screaming fans and glaring hot lights and sold out seats at Tokyo Dome. Of hugs and playful tackles, of harsh words of disappointment and crimson tears spilling down milk thighs.
Blinking, Ruki came back to the here and now and glanced into his all but empty bowel. It seemed his mind kept wondering to things he didn't want it to today...
"Thank you," he said with a soft smile, lifting his head and not questioning the blush on the bassist's cheeks; he had question enough today. "For the meal. It really hit the spot."

Reita wasn’t really sure what the other man was thinking about, but it was an oddly comfortable silence...plus...it gave him time to sneak more peaks at the less mentionable parts of Ruki’s anatomy without the other man noticing. It was just curiousity!....wasn’t it?
He blushed when the other man started again, thanking him for the meal.
“Well...since breakfast didn’t go so well, it’s the least that I could do...”
Now what were they going to do?...he wanted to do something...and it felt like something should come after, but what the hell was it?
“Uhh....so now what?” he asked sheepishly.

That was a good question and one Ruki didn't have an answer to. It would be so easy to claim he was still tired (which, he was in a way) and slip back to his dorm and have a spree of insomnia while he worked out just what it was he felt about Reita. He couldn't do that.
As insensitive as he appeared to be, Ruki knew if he slipped away to his dorm right now and locked himself inside and away from everyone, Reita would take it the wrong way and assume Ruki was right out rejecting him which, he wasn't. The thought of rejecting Reita never crossed his mind and that, just added another thing to ponder on his list.
Why didn't he just right out reject him? The answer was so simple that Ruki almost laughed: it was Reita and it explained everything in some twisted way.
"No idea," He answered with a faint shrug. "Got anything in mind?"

Reita examined Ruki’s features while he seemed to be thinking about that for a long moment. He was going to reject him, there was no question about it. It was only a matter of when, and how bad it would be. And, without really thinking too toughly about it he knew that it was going to hurt...bad....worse than anything he ever felt before.
He started slightly as Ruki addressed him again and blushed.
“Oh...I ...uhh....don’t really...have anything in mind, just....”
Reita dug around in his pockets, looking for something. He had a whole stack of business cards, maybe he could find a place for them to hang out, or just talk.
Fishing around quite a bit more he found an old business card to a coffee shop that provided free services and private rooms to rising stars...for a price. But, it wasn’t so great a price that it wouldn’t be worth it.
He gave the card to Ruki.
“Maybe coffee?”

Blinking, Ruki reached forward, curling his fingers around the old card and raising it to his face to read over the fine print on it. Coffee huh? Ruki was more of a tea person, preferring the soothing heat of tea over the bitterness strength of coffee. That didn't mean Ruki wouldn't go. He enjoyed spending time with Reita, had always enjoyed it. With the weight of Reita's confession resting upon Ruki's tiny shoulders, that hadn't changed. He enjoyed just sitting here, knowing that Reita was across from him and he would always enjoy being by and having Reita at his side. To not have mock manly Reita there....it was too scary, too painful to think about. "Sure," He shrugged, handing the card back to the bassist. "I have nothing else to do and coffee does sound nice unless," He mused, a slow smile curling his lips. "There's tea and pastries there. I could do for a nice cup of tea and a sfogliatelle." Just thinking of it had his mouth watering.
