Reita wasn’t really paying attention to the other man going to the bathroom, and then he came out quite suddenly and said that “honey....”
“WHAT AM I A GOD-DAMNED WOMAN!!”
Ok, maybe that was over-reacting a little bit. “Sorry..., but you know I...” he stopped there. The other man knew well enough on his own why not to do that to poor Reita. The other man really was too sensitive about his masculinity.
Looking up after he finished getting dressed he laughed softly, he couldn’t help it, with how Ruki’s hair was sticking up in weird places.
“Come here first...”
Walking into the bathroom, he got out some gel and handed Ruki a brush.
“At least it won’t stick up...the uniform I can’t help you with ...I don’t think you’ll fit into anything of mine....you can borrow a shirt...”

The reaction was beautiful and even better then he had thought it was going to be. Ruki knew not to push it too far though and at times he wondered why Reita was so sensitive about his sexuality. To Ruki there was nothing wrong with being with a man or a women. Each to their own and all that.
Hiding his smile behind a hand, he forced his face not to show his amusement. "I know and you should know by now that I'm only teasing you." He never took it any farther then that or pushed past where Reita was truly uncomfortable.
A thankful smile replaced the amused one and he took the gel and brush and heading back into the bathroom with both items. "It's alright. I shockingly don't care but," He trailed off grabbing a towel and sinking to his knees by the tube. "I will take you up on that shirt offer."
Turning on the water and waiting for it to warm up just enough, he stuck his head under it, rising out the product he already had in it. It was pointless after all to attempt to fix something unfixable. The easiest thing to do was to just wet it, work out what he had put in it this morning and just let the wild curls (something he added this morning. His hair had a slight curl to it, nothing more) be.
Done, he dried his hair with the towel, tossing it into the hamper near by when he was done and running the brush though his hair. Glancing back at the taller man, he titled his head slightly to the side.
"Which shirt are you lending me?"

Reita had, for whatever reason, watched the other man do all of this with a sort of awkward fascination. Why, again, he had no idea. Some feeling in the pit of his stomach had even cropped up, and it made his heart beat fast, and he blushed. What the fuck?!
“Uhhh...you can pick..?”
Suddenly he was very glad he was wearing a noseband, Ruki couldn’t really see him blush that way, at least not without really looking.
Walking over to his armoir he opened the top drawer and pulled out a carefully folded stack of graphic tees. There were quite the variety. Some of them designer even. His favorite brands cropped head and lock. There were even a couple of band t-shirts. Sex pistols, red hot chili peppers, etc.
“I don’t know, you can pick whatever you want...”
Moving away to look out the window, he grabbed a fitted canvas buckle jacket off of the hook near the door and walked back, trying his best to walk off the blush while Ruki picked out a t-shirt.
“Yea...I’m pretty hungry myself...”

"You said something about a ramen shop, right?" He just wanted food and didn't care what it was at this point in time. He simply wanted to eat something that he liked and knew wouldn't make him sick and ramen was perfect. Just the thought of some nice, hot pork ramen was making his mouth water. Digging through the pile of shirts, Ruki grinned, pulling out a simple black Guns and Roses shirt. Unbuttoning his school uniform top, he slide it off which, looking back on it, he should have done much sooner; it would have been more comfortable to sleep in the tang top he always wore under it. Placing it on, he smoothed it down, picking at it until it sat the way he wanted it too. Done, he fiddled a bit with his hair and finally happy with the way he looked, stuck his thumbs through his belt loops, patiently waiting for Reita. "I say lets get some ramen. You okay with that?"

Reita smirked at Ruki’s choice, the other man seemed to have a preference for certain types of american music just like he did, so it didn’t really come as a surprise that he passed up his Vivienne Westwood tops and a couple of h.Naoto graphic tees he had.
“Yea...sounds good. You want to walk, or you want me to drive?”
They could have a smoke and talk if they walked to the ramen place. And it wasn’t really that far so if they were really hungry they could hurry right along.
Grabbing his dorm key, they headed out, Reita only waiting for Ruki to tell him which: driving or walking.
To him it didn’t really matter.
What was weird about the whole thing, the whole whole thing, was that the entire time he had been acting like he was on a date or something. It was exactly the kind of questions and the exact same tone he would have used with one of his 3 or 4 girlfriends he was messing around with.
Of course, he himself hadn’t noticed, because his self-awareness left something to be desired.

What seemed liked a near impossible choice to make was rather easy: Ruki wanted to walk tonight. It was rare that he wanted to do so because him and physical exercise was just a no. In fact, the most exercise he got was walking around campus and hiding from certain teachers that always, always seemed to find him.
"Lets walk." He answered, slipping out the door and waiting in the hallway for his taller friend.
If Reita was treating him any differently then normal, Ruki didn't notice it. In fact, wasn't this how Reita usually treated him? There were times where the only one the stubborn, 'manly' bassist listen to was him. Again, Ruki never question, simply passing it off on him being nothing but awesome because he was awesome from his hair down to his oh so stylish clothing choices.
"So ladies man," He teased, rocking on his heels with his arms clutched behind his back. "How many skanks you got on the side this time?" Last time he had asked, Ruki was sure it was two, possible three.
It never really bothered him that Reita kinda played the whore of the bed so long as it didn't cause any trouble, he was honestly fine. And then, there were days when it disgusted him. Ruki himself believed in monogamy and wouldn't even think about touching someone else while in a relationship.
Each to their own and all that.

Reita nodded, locking the door to his dorm behind him. If Ruki wanted to walk, that’s what they were going to do, goddammit! Actually...it sounded kind of nice. Despite it being winter, the weather had been pretty mild the last couple of days. And it was actually sort of pleasant out this evening.
Walking down the corridor with Ruki he blushed at the other man’s question.
“Four...,” he shrugged slightly.
The other band members regularly criticized him about this. Aoi was the worst. He’d told Reita off for dating the same girl as him once. Like that was his fault or something. Even though the girl was obviously two-timing. Obviously, they’d both stopped dating her after that.
Reita lit a cigarette, feeling a little nervous about this line of questioning.
“What are you getting at, Ru?”

So it was four this time, huh?
Ruki truly wondered how Reita kept it up. How could he juggle four girls and not get caught? Ruki himself knew that if he tried anything like that, he'd feel horrible about it. Cheating just wasn't in him and if he wasn't happy in a relationship, he would end; he was brutally honest at times.
"Nothing, honestly," He answered with a soft smile.
Or was he? he knew the others didn't approve, Aoi even going as far as to butt heads with Reita over some chick who's name he couldn't be bothered to remember. That was why he preferred men over women. They were less trouble and there was no reason to fight over one.
"I just," He frowned faintly, trying to think how to phrase what he wanted to say. "Don't understand Rei. Why so many at once?"
And that was the one thing Ruki truly didn't get. What was the appeal of having more then one women? He couldn't speak for others but, Ruki himself was never more then one person, even if it was just casual sex.
"I guess," He chuckled softly. "That's what I think I was getting at."

Reita looked thoughtful. He knew why he did it, but maybe he didn’t want to admit it to someone else. And, he didn’t want Ruki to think he was an absolute piece of garbage, like Aoi had done since that whole confrontation. Reita was sure that he’d get over it after a while, but...it kind of made him mad that their guitarist wasn’t on speaking terms with him.
“I ain’t gonna like, Ru...it’s a bad reason. But, if I get caught there’s nothing to lose but the girls. They’re a dime a dozen. I mean, they’re good looking and all, but I can get more girls. And I get bored if....”
He just stopped right there, the hole was getting deeper and he didn’t really want to bury himself in it later.
Why was Ruki bringing this up anyway? It kind of hurt his feelings a little bit. Why did it hurt his feelings?
After these last couple of years, everything with Ruki had a contrasting kind of aura about it. One the one hand he really liked to be around him, and at the same time he didn’t, because for whatever damned reason it was he always ended up asking questions he didn’t know the answer to, and didn’t want to know the answer to.
“You got a girl...?” he asked casually, taking a drag off of his cigarette as they walked out of the dorm building.

It was almost as if Reita was hiding behind each girl he was with. Was the other that insecure with himself that he had too drown himself in easy girls that only knew how to spread their legs? Not that every girls was a skank as Ruki so affectionately called them and it was those girls he felt sorry for.
"It's your life Rei, do what you want but what bothers me is that you hurt them. Some of them are actually pretty nice and deserve to be treated better then that."
Maybe now wasn't the time to bring it up and maybe he wasn't the right person to say anything. Now that the topic had been brought up, Ruki couldn't keep that to himself anymore and it felt good too get that all off his chest. he just hoped that one day Reita would grow out of the man whore stage and move on into a more mature mind set when it came to relationships.
Humming softly, he shook his head in answer. "Nah, girls are too troublesome for me. Men are much easier to deal with." Unless they were one of those really, really feminine types and Ruki didn't go for them.
He liked his lovers to look like men or, at least act somewhat like one. When they acted like women, it was a complete turn off.

Reita ran his fingers through his hair, looking a little stressed out. It was the fact that this upset Ruki that was getting to him. And WHY WAS THAT?! GODDAMMIT!!!!
Sighing slightly, he nodded.
“Yea...I know Ru...but there’s a -lot- of nice girls out there....how you want me to tell the difference. You want me to be with whores like me all the time?...”
It was a good question. Perhaps, a bit of a loaded one, but a good question.
He blushed at this next part. Of course, he’d always suspected this, but he hadn’t really said anything about it. And, up until now Ruki had kind of lied about it. Probably, because Reita was so damned worried about his own masculine facade.
“Oh...you gay...?” shit...that meant that what he said earlier was probably offensive...
“Man, shit....you know ....I just want to apologize for acting so dumb earlier....you know I don’t mean shit like that...I wasn’t tryin to say it’s a bad thing to be gay. It’s just not me...”
Ruki was a damned good-looking guy. And, Reita imagined he could have whoever he wanted, girl or guy. Nothing to be ashamed about in that. But....god, now he wondered if that was what his father was always so fucking mean about.
“That why you’re dad’s an asshole?” he blurted out.

A scoff. "Don't be stupid. You're my friend, I only want the best for you." And maybe that's what he disliked even more then the broken hurts that Reita left behind. Reita could do so much better then what he was doing now and really, when it came down to it, all Ruki wanted was to see not only Reita but the rest of the band happy.
Snorting a laugh, he once again shook his head in a negative. It wasn't that he was gay, he was perfectly find being with a women, he just liked men more. There was just something so erotic about being utterly dominated, something most -if not all- women lacked the balls to do that just turned him on to no end.
"You misunderstood, I simply prefer dick over vagina." It was blunt of him to say it like that but, it was the truth and there was no reason to sugar coat it. Besides, manly Reita could handle, he had to handle it. They were a visual kei band and Ruki had a feeling that a good portion of the men had to be gay or swing both ways.
The next question made him pause mid-step. His father was always a sensitive subject and it was one he rather avoid then have brought up. Reita had brought it up and as much as Ruki didn't want to, he would tell the blond.
"No. At least," He corrected himself, resuming his walk. "Not at first. He...dislike," and that was putting it lightly. His father down right hated that he was in the music field. "That I choose music instead of a stupid desk job. I only said I liked men to piss him off and it worked." Laughing softly, he glanced up at Reita. "It turned out to be truer for me then I expected."

Reita listened, with a certain level of comprehension. But, at the same time, by the furrow in his brow it was obvious that he didn’t exactly understand liking both, but wanting one or the other. Reita wasn’t always the brightest when it came to sexuality...for obvious reasons. He spent must of his time trying not to think about it, and just screwing every woman who had the misfortune of falling in love with him, or who wanted a one night stand.
That list was getting altogether too long....even he knew that.
But, Reita could also tell that he had hit on a sore subject. And, actually he had known that already. Reita brought it up because he actually wanted to know, because Ruki never talked that much about why he hated his father.
“Hey, man...I’m sorry to bring it up....kind of selfish of me, but...I actually kind of wanted to know if that was it...I guess I think he’s even more of a dick now that I know that. I can sorta understand if he didn’t like your sexuality, but music?...That’s what you do....you’re a good vocalist....”
This last little bit came out sounding far sweeter than Reita had meant it to. It was sort of soft, softer than he usually spoke.
“You gotta just do what makes you feel good...not worry about that shit, ok? I know your old man thinks he knows you, but he don’t...”

It was almost as if Reita couldn't wrap his mind around the fact that Ruki was attracted to both genders; as time went on though, he found himself finding women only visually appealing. Perhaps it was safe to say he was gay. Then again, it wasn't all that much of a surprise that Reita seemed not to get it.
The man was wrapped up in the pretense that he was straight (which Ruki really doubted some of the time) and that was cool, each to their own and all that. It was simply amusing at times to see Reita protest that he was anything but manly. His actions (at least towards Ruki himself) contradicted that and that was what made it almost confusing.
Now wasn't the time to ponder that. There were other better time like, when graphite stained fingers couldn't finish a drawing and a poetic tongue simply was at a lost of words. That was when Ruki would ponder Reita.
All the pondering in the world wouldn't help his figure out the bassist next to him. As simple as Reita seemed, he honestly wasn't.
"Curiosity Reichan killed the cat." He teased with a soft smile, showing that he wasn't offended by the topic of his father. "And I know, that's why I'm here: I'm doing what I want and what I love."
The sad thing was, Ruki knew the moment they made it big, that he proved it wasn't some stupid naive dream, his father would be his father again. He would be almost proud but, it wouldn't change the harsh words, it wouldn't change the hand he rose and struck him with, it wouldn't change anything.

Reita nodded. He could guess the character of Ruki’s father from the other man’s various descriptions he’d managed to drag out of him over time...and Reita didn’t like him, not even a little bit. He wondered if Ruki’s father would ever act as though he were proud of him, even if they made it big.
But, then they reached the door of the restaraunt and Reita held the door open, without much thinking about it, for Ruki.
“This is the place...”
It smelled fantastic!
And, when they walked in a very cute looking waitress came to show them to their table.
After sitting down Reita nudged Ruki.
“She’s cute, ne?”
Ruki had said he liked both genders, hadn’t he? XD
Still, with Ruki around Reita’s eyes didn’t seem to follow the cute waitress. Instead, Reita’s eyes seemed to follow Ruki’s hands, face, eyes, hair, everywhere.
