Ruki paid it no heed when the door was held open for him. When he was first with a man and a door was held open for him, he couldn't help but blush it embarrassment. He wasn't used to being treated as the girl but now, it was almost second nature for the door to be held open for him and when it wasn't, he almost got offended.
Taking a seat opposite Reita, he glanced at the waitress. She was cute, with her button nose and wide, doe eyes but, that was all she had to her. If he had been walking past her, Ruki would never have noticed her. Now, if she was dressed in something bright and eye catching (which Ruki had a closet full of) he would have noticed her.
"She is," He agreed, attention moving from her and back to his menu. "She's rather plain though." At least for his tastes. Then again, he had odd taste and as of late, he was finding women to be more of a visual pleasure then an erotic one.

Reita opened the menu as Ruki said this, not really having expected it. He looked up again, examining the girl, who smiled coquettishly at him. “She’s not so bad....with a little more makeup and some designer clothing she’d look great. But, since she’s at work I think it’s to be expected.”
Then, Reita went quickly back to his menu, picking out the tonkatsu ramen, and some gyoza as an appetizer. Tea to drink, he put his order in with the waitress.
“What are you gonna have, Ru?”
His eyes fell to Ruki....who in his shirt looked.....hot....WHERE DID THAT COME FROM?!!
Reita fidgeted like he had parkinson’s or something for a minute and then looked down at his menu in seeming frustration.

"Eh," He shrugged, looking through the menu even though he already knew what he wanted. "Too much make-up will make her look like a whore." She was pretty just, a normal pretty and normal wasn't something that could keep Ruki's attention all that long. It all came down to if she had the personalty.
Glancing through the menu once last time, he sat it down, smoothing his hands over it and leaning back.
"Pork ramen." He answered with a smile. It was simple and nothing peach was put into it or anywhere near it and that's just what he wanted. Peaches needed to stay far, far away from him.
Gently drumming his fingers on the table, he titled his head to the side, frowning softly at how....frustrated Reita seemed. "What's wrong?" He asked, fingers stopping their drumming motion.

Reita was ....blushing....he hated that. Luckily his noseband was always right where it should be for that very purpose.
“Err.....nothing, Ru....why?”
He fidgeted quite a bit more with the menu even though he was finished with it and then snuck another glance at Ruki.
It really didn’t make any sense to him. Why should he want to look at Ruki? And why should the word ‘hot’ come to be synonymous with him in any way? Reita was most definitely frustrated.
The waitress asked Ruki what he wanted to drink, and then went back with the order.
“So...uhhh....I mean, are you doing anything tomorrow?...,” did he just asked Ruki out on a date?!! “I mean....we could hang out,” he corrected himself, blushing even more.

Narrowing his eyes, Ruki lead forward, eying Reita. There was something bothering the other man, he knew it. Reita never fidgeted and if Ruki looked close enough, he swore he could see a faint pink dusting cheeks masked by that silly cloth across Reita's face.
"Because you're not acting like yourself," A slow smirk spread across his lips as he sat back in his seat, ordering himself a coke to drink when the cute waitress came back and crossing his arms over his chest. "It's almost like you have a crush~"
It didn't cross Ruki's mind that it might be him that was making Reita act like this. To Ruki, the man was straight as a board and it was easy to see why he thought this. Reita carried himself like any heterosexual man would and with all the hoes he had hanging off him, there was no room to even entertain the thought that Reita might like men.
Humming softly, he tapped his chin in thought. "I'm not doing anything but, I do have to at least go to Kreva-sensei's class. I can't miss that class anymore then I already have." He wanted to pass after all. "Before or after that, I'm all yours~"

Reita cowered slightly under Ruki’s inspection, realizing that he was being assessed and knowing full well that he was blushing. And now that particular problem had grown until he flushed a full on red, his whole face lighting up practically.
A....crush?!!
What if that was true? What if it was true about Ruki? No..no it couldn’t be. He was straight. At least that is what he kept telling himself.
The news of the other man only having one class seemed to interest him.
“Ah, if it’s ok then....I would like to just ...chill....,” he murmured. Trying not to draw another studying gaze from Ruki, which because of the soft way he said it would likely draw more attention from the other man.
The other man ordered a coke....it was very like Ruki. Reita took the moment to study the other man again, not being able to take his eyes off of how the other fit in his shirt.

Now Ruki knew for sure there was something wrong. Reita never blushed (that he knew of anyway) and to see his face flush a wonderful shade of red was odd and to hear how softly he spoke, it was just uncharacteristic of the bassist. Was the waitress that pretty? Ruki didn't think so; it had to be something else.
Leaning forward once again, he tenderly brushed a few strands of beach blond from Reita's face, resting the back of his hand against Reita's forehead once he was done. He didn't feel warm (minus the heat left over from the blush) and Reita was just fine when they left the dorm.
"Really now," Ruki sat back, removing his hand from Reita's forehead. "What's bothering you? You aren't acting like yourself Akira." It was rare that real names were used (at least for Ruki, he never called any of the band by their birth name) and so, it showed just how Reita's strange behavior was worrying him.

Reita was practically hyperventilating after the other man leaned in and examined him further, actually checking his forehead to make sure he didn’t have a fever. (How embarrassing!!) And, he just sat there a little bit slack jawed.
Slack jawed, because the entire time he had been thinking. ‘Can’t he just lean in for a little bit longer, stay this close for a little while more?’
Clearing his throat slightly, he muttered.
“I’m fine...you’re the one that was laid out on the nurse’s cot this morning...not me....I just want to hang out? Crime or something?”
He was acting gruff, but it was only to shake off his own infatuation again.

Ruki was used to Reita's gruffness, even expected it at times and, there were times when he dealt with it, laughed it off and teased the bassist some more. Today wasn't one of those days. He was concerned over a dear friend and here said dear friend was making it hard on him.
Scowling, he violently stood from the table and glared at the bassist. "I'm worried about you, you idiot." He didn't care if he was making a scene. He was annoyed and upset that Reita was being so...so Reita-ish about the whole thing. "Is that a crime?" He mocked, shoving his chair back in place.
"I'm going for a cigarette, don't follow me." With that, he swept past Reita and outside, leaning against the building and shakily withdrawing his more the crumpled pack of cigarettes from his pockets and lighting one, taking a shaky drag and sliding down to crouch against the wall.
Why was Reita so difficult at times?

Of course, Reita hadn’t expected this at all and he looked up at the other man in a sort of shock and terror. The people in the tables and booths near them stared as the other man stormed off and went outside, leaving Reita all by himself.
Now, if Reita had been feeling any less like himself today, he wouldn’t have followed Ruki, but Reita had an attitude just as big as the other man’s.
Flagging the waitress and leaving his wallet for collateral he promised to come back in once he’d collected the vocalist. Walking out and leaning against the wall beside Ruki, lighting his own cigarette and not saying anything for a long, long moment.
“I’m confused....,” he took a long drag off the cigarette, his hand shaking slightly as he drew it away. He didn’t like it when Ruki was angry with him, hated it in fact.

Ruki wasn't expecting Reita to follow him. If the bassist listen to anyone, he listened to Ruki then again, there were times (like now) when he didn't and Ruki was glad, so glad that he had a few minutes to himself, to smoke his cigarette and calm down. He didn't need to be snapping at his friend, it would only make things worse.
Taking a deep drag, he titled his head back, letting the smoke leave him in a lazy cloud. "Doesn't mean you have to be so gruff when I'm only worried." He pointed out softly, flicking his ashes and glancing up at the other man.
"I'm all ears though, what's got you so confused?" As diva-ish as he could be, he cared about his friends and hated to see any of them distressed over something. If he could help he would.

Reita fidgeted with his cigarette, puffing out a bit of smoke. Giving a quickly glance around he made sure that nobody was around. It was really a private matter between him and Ruki and he didn’t want anyone else prying in on their conversation, especially when it was of this kind of nature.
“I’m confused....,” he frowned. “Because when I look at you....I feel something. And I know that I shouldn’t....And that’s why I’m getting so damned gruff with you....but I don’t mean to be....”
It was obvious this had been bugging him for some time now, by the number of pauses and the way that he swore in an almost endearing way, and how it all came out in a hurried sounding whisper despite the pauses.
Now his hands were shaking, because he was sure he was going to get chewed out some more.

Whatever Ruki was expecting, it wasn't this. it would have been far more likely that Reita had accidentally knocked up one of his side hoes then this and Ruki didn't know how to feel.
Did this mean Reita hated him? Ruki could deal with anything so long as that didn't happen. When he had joined the Gazette, Reita had been the one he had first become close to and even now, a few years after they had been joined by both Kai and Aoi, it was still the same. Reita was his best friend and he couldn't loose that.
"Oh.." He whispered softly, glancing down at his thighs.
What confused Ruki even more was the pain. It hurt to think that Reita hated him, that he was loosing him. He understood that loosing friends hurt but, it shouldn't hurt this bad. If he had anything to compare it too, it was worse then when his father had all but disowned him.
"What...what does this mean 'Kira?" Or course Ruki had no idea that he had it wrong, that Reita didn't hate him but, that was the easiest to assume when Reita was such a manly man.

Reita raised a hand to his head, running his fingers through his hair. He was really nervous now, not knowing how to say any of this without feeling like a total idiot. Because, he didn’t even know what exactly he was feeling himself.
“I uhhhh....Ru, when I look at you....,” he tried to relax a moment and collect his thoughts, taking a few puffs off of his cigarette and hoping that Ruki would have patience with him.
He spoke then, “Ruki...what I mean is that earlier, in the restaurant I was ...checking you out...and I don’t know why. I mean, I don’t feel that way about other guys...I don’t think they’re good looking or anything, but you...for some reason....”
Reita trailed off here, mortified by his own words. But, at least this was a little bit more clear. Just a second ago he was sure that Ruki thought that he was mad or something.
“I’m not mad at you...just confused about that. I don’t know what to do....,” he sounded almost desperate.

And here it was about to come, the words Ruki never wanted to hear, that he feared to hear.
They never came though and words he thought would never leave the bassist's did. Reita was attracted to him. Not men, him and only him. For a moment, Ruki didn't know what to say to sooth the bassist, what to do to ease the obvious distress he was in.
"I'm glad," He said after a moment of silence. "That it's attraction and no well...yeah." Now that it was clear what Reita was asking the way he was, it made perfect sense an Ruki almost felt bad for jumping to the worst case scenario.
Maybe, his father's hurtful words did more damage to him then he thought.
"I can't help you there Rei. Just do what feels right to you." He didn't mind it, knowing that his best friend was attracted to him in fact, his heart fluttered for some odd reason at the thought. Ignoring his own feelings, Ruki stood, putting out his cigarette and brushing off his pants.
"What you can do now is come back inside and eat with me, okay?"
