Daichi only managed to move into the school dorms after his second week of the term, having processed all the paperwork and then came the shifting of furniture and all that other related nonsense...by the time he was truly done, the youth was pretty much exhausted, slumped over the small couch he managed to procure for his little room.
Ahhhh the nostalgia. He felt himself smiling despite his fatigue, looking around the freshly decorated room that he had to himself now and finding every single spot quite remarkable.
"....Mou. Thirsty."
Daichi complained to himself after a pause, sighing as he forced himself off the comfort of his squishy couch to head outside and get a drink by the pantry. Just his luck, however, the cleaner was in and mopping the floors, forcing poor Daichi out into the opposite direction and towards the canteen instead for something nice and icy.
Juice? Apple juice?
Think he'll get some juice.
"It's good for you! For you!"
He sang to himself with a dance to his steps, feeling the idea of starting the school term finally settle in his mind and the youth decided that he'd like that very much. He silently thanked Kreva for the idea.
Have fun! Make new friends! Improve your skills for the brighter tomorrow! And all that jazz.
Excellent.
Now for some juice!

He was starving.
All night out at the club tended to leave the third year student groggy and tired in the mornings but he found himself unusually able to function and had decided on heading to the cafeteria for some terrible for you greasy food.
Dressed in a pair of pajama sweats and a tank top, he was idling his way down the path towards his destination, hair pulled back and cigarette dangling between his fingers. It wasn't until he was barely a few meters away that he noticed the other boy and moved to avoid him, not wanting to disturb the guy.
"Morning," He called out of habit, moving to pass by. He realized he didn't recognize him. Another new student?

"Eh?"
Daichi turned around when someone greeted him, curious as to who else might possibly know him in the Academy. That voice belonged to a very handsome young man and Daichi can't help but stare, wide-eyed and agape at the beauty before him.
"...Morning."
He managed to reply after a swallow, taking his juice politely from the counter and shuffling aside to allow said beau to order whatever it was that beaus have for breakfast.
It was so unfair, how good-looking some people can be, and Daichi felt just a little bit of jealousy boiling at the pit of his guts as his eyes started roving over the silhouette of this other young male.
...NO! BAD TEJI! BAD! This isn't what he should be mulling about!
"What are you having?"
Daichi asked in an effort to start a conversation with this nice, handsome young man.

"Whatever has the highest calorie count." Was the tall brunette's reply as he squinted at the board. Usually he got the traditional breakfast of rice but he was craving something greasy, something that would keep him full for a while. Aha, American style breakfast with hashbrowns, fried eggs and bacon. Perfect. "I think I'm going to go with that," He pointed out before stepping up and placing his order.
"So...I don't think I've seen you around before. Are you a new student?" He leaned back against the wall while he waited for his order to cook.

Well...people like Jae can afford that kind of thing.
"Hahaha! I guess I'll have the same then."
Daichi decided as he ordered with the lady behind the counter before stepping aside as well to join Jae by the collection area. The canteen was pretty empty at this time of the day, it been too late for breakfast and too early for lunch.
"Hai! Pretty new. A little old to be back in school though, but I guess I can work something out."
Daichi said a little shyly with his curly head bowed.
"Miura Daichi, doozo yoroshiku! I'm taking a couple third year subjects and some fifth year ones. And you?"
He offered a handshake and a shy kind of smile. The young man wasn't the usual pretty boy types that are common in the grounds of Ageha. He seemed different, special, with the maturity and experience of a professional artiste, and though the way he spoke carried about the politeness of humility, there was a hidden strength of confidence in every word.

"You don't seem so old to me." The brunette grinned, tilting his head to study the other. There was something innately charming about the other boy, an earnestness and maturity that made Jae take an instant like to him.
"Kim Jaewook...everyone calls me Jae though. I guess its easier." He took the youth's hand, giving it a firm shake. He didn't feel any calluses. Not a guitar player then. His curiosity was definitely piqued. "I'm in third...been here since first." Sometimes he felt like the only kid on campus who had worked his way up from first year. Then again, it had its advantages. He had more experience there, a familiarity with the teachers and a tolerance for the workload.

Kim Jaewook...a Korean!
"Pleased to meet you."
Daichi greeted with a warm handshake in return.
"You must be the veteran senior that everyone looks up to, then."
Their food was done and Daichi loaded both plates onto the tray.
"Shall we?"
He asked politely to have breakfast together, motioning for a series of booths and empty seats. Not many people greet strangers in the morning. Daichi took that cue as a little thread of opportunity to get to know this other youth better. After all they were in the same year, despite their age differences.
"I'm too old to go back to school."
He laughed while placing two glasses of iced-water onto their tray.
"But I need all the help I can get before I embarrass myself so..."

"Yes, we shall." Jae grinned, letting Daichi collect the food. Someone with manners. A rarity.
"No one is too old to go back to school. We can always stand to learn something new, no matter our age." He turned to lead the way to a well-worn booth, sliding into the one side.
"You embarass yourself? How?"

"I can't play any instrument to save my life."
Daichi says finally with a heavy sigh, slipping into the seats opposite his new found friend.
"I find that very embarrassing, really. To know how to create good music but without the ample and proper knowledge...it's like feeling around blindly for gold."
He removed the tray from under their plates, helping to set the cutlery first for Jae and then for himself.
"Itadakimasu! So I got some reccommendations from some people, to come here and give this a shot when my schedule isn't too packed. It's a little hard, to be honest. I'm used to being in a smaller place with a whole lot of people I know. It's like the direct opposite now."
A humongous place full of strangers.
"It's like, I have to start from scratch."
Then those deep hazelnut orbs looked up to catch Jae's.
"Are you local?"
It was a silly question of course, but it was only polite for this to be a first step before the next.
......Damned. Jae's really very good-looking. Daichi forced himself not to stare too much. Or feel even worse about himself. He shifted his eggs around on his plate, blushing despite it all.

As Daichi talked, Jae found himself listening to every word as he sipped at his water. There was something engaging about the other student. He -wanted- to hear what he had to say. He sounded grounded, mature and honest...all qualities that Jae knew were hard to find. Besides, he was cute. One didn't have to be stunning to be attractive. Stunning faces were a dime a dozen around Ageha.
"Ah, sort of. I mean, the first ten years of my life I grew up in Japan...I barely spoke proper Korean when we moved back home...I felt like a complete idiot and my friends would say that I looked more Japanese than Korean anyways...I kept in contact with some friends over here...they told me about Ageha so I graduated early to come here and attend...I live on campus but my friend and his parents kind of act as a host family...I talk to my folks every week and I fly back for holidays but otherwise..." He shrugged, moving to grab one of the hashbrowns and sticking it in his mouth. He made a satisfied noise, the deep-friend potato exactly what he'd been graving. Swallowing loudly, he grinned. "So...after a really long answer, yeah I guess I am local...sort of. I did stake out all the proper Korean BBQ joints though. There are two nearby that are ridiculously good..." He reached for another piece of hashbrown.
"You know, if you need help with the guitar or the drums, I'd be totally up for tutoring." He smiled around the food in his mouth, careful to keep it from showing. Despite his slightly hungover state, he hadn't completely forgotten his manners.

Jae...
This young man's the nicest he has met so far on campus. It didn't matter to him whether the other was Korean, Japanese or Hindi. Daichi was sincerely glad that he met him.
"Yes, you do look very Japanese. Not that it's a bad thing, but yeah, you sound absolutely local, I was fooled! How is Korea like though? Is it as cold as Hokkaido? I've been there before to do some shows but only during the summer."
Can't dance when your bones are all frozen, after all.
"Oh! I love Korean food but I can't pronounce their names to save my life! Going to Korean restaurants are always so difficult! Haha! You need to teach me how to say Bibimbab properly."
Daichi had a hand over his eyes in embarrasment with his admittance, looking rather shy but he managed. The canteen food was great. Looks like the students here are properly cared for. He couldn't say much about the bugs though.
"But would it take up too much of your time? I don't want to hinder your studies."

"It's not bad. I'm so used to being in Japan now I have to catch myself when I'm home. Sometimes I greet people in Japanese or ask something and they just stare at me confused or try to help as if I'm a tourist." He chuckled, chin resting on his palm while his free hand snatched a piece of bacon and he nibbled on it thoughtfully. "It's home though...that's where my family is...As for the weather, it's not so different. Less humid I guess..." More bacon.
"Ha...we'll have to go out to eat then. Pronunciation shouldn't stand in the way of good food...and no worries about taking up time. It won't be taking up time at all. You get to learn instruments and I get to know you. It's a win win, right?" Because he definitely wanted to get to know Daichi better.

Blink.
Did Jae just say what he think he just heard?!
"You're really nice. Are all the other Koreans just like you?"
Daichi teased back after he recovered from his initial shock. He can't help but feel a little more accomplished, especially after realising that Jae didn't think he was too bad, despite his looks and lack of talent. Being nice always pays off.
So there, Aki! Back at you!
He silently congratulated himself.
"Then if you don't mind, I'd love for some tips on guitaring. My fingers hurt so much at the end of the day, I have no idea how you guys tolerate that!"

Daichi was absolutely adorable. Jae found himself grinning as he finished off the bacon.
"Sometimes...but I'm the nicest. If anyone says otherwise, don't believe them..." Man, he was barely feeling hungover at all anymore. Perhaps he'd found his hangover cure in the older student. It was worth a thought.
"It gets better over time, I promise. Your fingertips kind of turn into these shells of armor...way better...really rough when you touch someone but sometimes that's the fun part, right?" He smirked, poking at the eggs with his fork before separating a few bites and scooping one up.

Oooookay. That was on a completely different topic altogether now.
"Too much info."
Daichi cut Jae off halfway with a purse of his lips, feeling embarrassment slowly creep up his own tanned features. Like, waaaaay too much info. Hell, he didn't know which was more fun anyway, since the only people who ever touched him intimately were his mom and his dad.
...And that was because they needed to change his diapers.
"Hey..!!"
Suddenly he realised Jae looked rather strikingly familiar.
Daichi broke out into a wide smile, pointing a finger in Jae's face just when the other had a forkful of egg in midair.
"You're the guy I saw at Daikanyama!!! Oh man that was you? That was so awesome!"
(*O*)<3
"I loved that song!!"
