The man smiled while watching those soft petals pout up for that sweet little blow, watching how the other's lashes would flutter shut just for that quick moment and then it was gone. Inaba worked deftly with a couple last folds and finally he revealed his next creation. It was a tiny grasshopper.
This he placed on top of Teru's closed sketchbook when returning it to the student.
Indeed he had a family. Had, a family...a broken, sorry mimicry of a family. That was the price he had to pay for such a successful career as his. There was no wedding ring on his ring finger, in place of it was an intricate tattoo...one that did not match the inked band around his wrist.

Teru took the sketchbook with both hands and mumbled something that could mean, "thank you," he opened his sketchbook and looked at the grasshopper. A small smile spreading on his lips.
He looked up at Koshi-sensei with curious eyes, "May I ask something, rather personal sensei?" Teru asked hesitantly.
He was a little nervous after all.

"By all means."
Inaba replied with a charming smile, his mannerisms besting even the knights of legend.
"What tickles your curiosity, young man?"
He in turn was curious as to how personal this question might be, leaning forward just a little to have both arms resting on his lap with that tousled head turned to observe Teru's effeminate features.

Teru took a deep breath. He probably shouldn't speak about this, but he wanted to know, "What happened to your son? I-I mean, why did you say that you think that he's going to be 13? Sorry, if this is too personal!' Teru said all of this in one breath.
"Y-You don't have to answer... Since we just met and I'm being overly curious and..."
The poor boy was so nervous about having bothered someone who has just become his favorite teacher.

"Oh!"
There it was again, that hint of sadness in those beautiful, reflective eyes. Inaba smiled however, propping his chin up with a raised palm as he continued to capture Teru's pretty gaze.
"I haven't seen him in many many years. Many years."
He was a horrendous father.
"He's with his mother. And I haven't seen her in many years too, my dear."
He couldn't bring himself to. Inaba didn't seem to mind the question much. In fact he appeared as if he expected it somehow and that bittersweet sadness remained lingering about those soft lips.

Teru nodded in understanding. "Did something happen between you and your wife?" There he was again, he just couldn't keep his mouth shut whenever his curiosity has taken rein. "I-I mean, it would be obvious that you wouldn't be able to be around her much when you're a famous musician... Or were you married before you became too famous?"
Teru shut his mouth, "Sorry. I keep asking questions..." Teru looked down at his hands that held the sketchbook.

"More of...somethings that never happened. Between me and my wife."
Pause.
"....My ex-wife."
Inaba corrected himself softly and with a shake of his head, sitting back against the bench now and running both hands through his soft tousled locks. He looked at the sky and wondered...he would always wonder. Why does the sun go on shining?
"It simply never worked out. We were in love once. Once upon a time."

"Ah..." Teru said nodding slightly, "Uh... If you want, you can ask me questions too, Koshi-sensei," Teru gave him a small smile, wanting to cheer the other man.
"Anything you want to know," he said while holding his smile.

His brow lifted just a tad bit.
"All right."
Inaba smiled again, turning to catch Teru's pretty face and marvel at how the sunlight reflects off those blonde streaks.
"Why do you smoke?"

Teru stopped for a moment to think. No one had asked him that before. His parents had just let him pick up the habit, and now that he was out of their home, he hadn't been able to stop.
"You could say, it was a childish way for me to call for my parents attention, they kept me at home and didn't let me go to school like the other kids, but they were never home either. Then, one of my relatives gave me a cigarette to try, I guess that's how it started," Teru looked at his sketch book again.

"Why and how did that happen?"
This was asked on the parents' behaviour.
"And how do you feel about it then? How do you feel about it now?"
You could say the man was curious as to how his very own son might have thought of him then...and now. He never had the courage to ask himself. He didn't think he ever would.

"I wasn't planned, they weren't going to have children," Teru bit his lips, "They had the perfect life without me, they could go to parties every day and not care about anything, since they have a lot of money, but once I was born, they didn't stop at all, they just kept going to their parties and left the servants with strict instructions of not letting me out," he shrugged.
"To outsiders they pretended to be the most doting parents, and sometimes they acted like that to me too, and even though they never said they hated me, they didn't pay much attention to me unless I did something wrong," he held on to his sketchbook tightly.
