"Oh! Thanks. Yeah, we are. Poor Aki isn't allowed to have a partner...guess he really pissed Kre off today." He chuckled at the memory. No matter how many times he tried to explain to the blond that yes, restraint was actually a good thing in some situations, Aki seemed unable to grasp the concept. "He's a good kid underneath it all...and by underneath it all, more like underneath a vault of bad behavior..."
He glanced back quickly at his phone. If Daichi was on his way, there was no need to reply.

Akiya smiled in understanding. "I used to know someone like that..." He looked at his tray and then at the seat next to Jae, "mind if I sit next to you? At least, until Daichi comes over," Akiya was very nervous about making friends, but he just couldn't keep on waiting until other people approached him.
But. This is so difficult.

Halfway through that, a loud thud of books could be heard getting dumped on the seat next to Akiya. It was Daichi, smiling as he managed to find his friends...the BOTH of them....sitting together.
"Sorry I'm late."
...Not technically, but.
"I'm going to get drinks! Would you guys like something?"
It's convenient that everyone decided to sit together like that. Else he might have a bit of difficulty watching Akiya eat alone while he was discussing work with Jae.
"Library's closing at 6.30 today for cleaning, so I had to grab my things first."
He explained to the other.
The selection of books on the table however....
- The King's Speech - The Happiness Project - Decision Points, by George Bush - The Communist Manifesto
...And those were just the english titles. All non-fiction pick-ups that were meant for the lecturers more than the students!

"Oh yeah, sure. Sit. Sorry, my bad for not offering." He immediately shifted over, pushing his tray along with him. Settling back in the corner and deciding it far more comfier than the seat at the end, he started to pick up a piece of broccoli with his chopsticks.
"Do you and Aki have any idea who you wanna research yet?" He asked, just as Daichi's books thumped down. He glanced quickly at the titles. Another english speaker.
"Oh! I've been meaning to read The King's Speech! Lemme know when you bring it back so I can take it out...ew, George Bush?" He tilted his head to scan the rest of the books. "Er...some orange juice. What about you Akiya?"

"Not yet, we're going to decide later," Akiya said while he settled himself next to Daichi. He then looked at the books that had brought their interest with how heavy they had sounded. They all seemed like non-fiction stories, and they were in English. Akiya's worst subject. He couldn't help but blink at the titles and at their thickness.
"Ah... More coffee please?" because he had somehow managed to finish the one he had brought with him. He guessed he drank coffee like he breathed air.

"He's not exactly all -that- bad. I just wanted to know his POV."
Daichi looked rather surprised and pleasantly so, that Jae was familiar with politics and current affairs.
"I just finished Frost Nixon's biography so...Did you watch the movie?"
Nearly forgetting about getting those drinks and then some.
"Uwah! Okay. Coffee and juice."
That sounded like breakfast, really. Daichi jingled the coins in his pockets, smiling as he left to get them.

Akiya felt slightly out of place. He gave him a small smile. "Maybe I should go get them?" He offered already standing up. Politics and foreign affairs were never his forte. You could see why Akiya was opposed to being a lawyer in the first place. He just wasn't cut out for it, nor did he have the motivation to pursue it.

"Drinks are on me until you get that job, Akiya."
Daichi explained with a friendly hand on the other's shoulder, giving it a warm squeeze before he left to buy the beverages. The youth returned shortly after with a tray of them, sliding it onto their desk smoothly. Every single movement he made was supple and naturally so. It was as if he was born to dance.
"Coffee for you...juice is here...and this is mine."
He felt like a hot chocolate today, smiling as he slid into the seat next to Akiya.
"....Jae? Where did you put my books?"
They weren't on the table anymore!
